One Long Weekend Down, One to Go for March!

WiP: Trigger Finger Mittens
FO: SSP (Noro Striped Scarf)

Well, I just had four glorious days off with Dallas, which have led me to be the most relaxed that I have been in a long while.

We went hiking and to the zoo...And I got more yarn to make another Jane Richmond "Oatmeal Pullover," this time in a kind of faded demin colour.

Now, three days of work, and then into another long weekend...And headlong into March!

It's going to be good!

I'll give you a better update on Thursday, hopefully!

That Kind of Week...Again

WiP: SSP, slippers

Well, yes, it is Thursday. Not dead, quite healthy, in fact...Just haven't written. And right now, I really don't have much to say.

It's spring, but it's snowing again.

This weekend is Dallas and my 4th-year anniversary (yay!)

And I've done some spring cleaning of my room and our bedroom, which feels a lot better. I will be posting pictures of my craft room at some point.

And that is all.

Have fun, my knitties!

Queue Enhancement: Begin the Springtime Flower Parade!

That's right, hanami (flower viewing) will be in full swing in Japan in a couple weeks.

Because of this, I'm going to start showing you blossom inspired knits, at least a couple different posts.

This post is centred around sakura (cherry blossoms).

SSP Progress!!

WiP: SSP, slippers (still)

That's right.

It's the SSP in progress! It's in my pretty, delicate, DellaQ project bag. Love it!
And this is my dear Hubby to be, reading Kate Beaton's, Hark! A Vagrant

He doesn't get featured here enough, and I actually really like this picture.

This is the man who flies week-in and week-out to help provide for the both of us (and not that I'm not contributing...).

So, a picture of the SSP, and a picture of my sweetie!

Can you guess who the SSP might be for? Think of significant dates coming up! (But don't tell me the project, even if you think you what it is.)

Let me know in the comments, and I'll think of a special prize. This can be for the most fantastical story, or the right guess. It's my choice. ;)

You'll have until next Tuesday!

Have a lovely evening, my knitties!

Wedding Wednesday 9/80: Shoes of Prey

So, I've got myself bribed to go to the gym. Once I finish all my sets, I'm allowed to go buy my wedding shoes.

Not that I've disallowed myself from looking.

Which means that I'm 99% sure I've come across what I want to do for wedding shoes. A little bit more expensive than I was planning, BUT I can make something that I will wear...And wear again.

I came across the absolutely fabulous website Shoes of Prey last night, which lets you custom design your shoe!

I love it, because it means that, instead of trying to search for a pair of sparkly pink or pink lace covered Oxfords that are heeled but not stiletto...I can design them right over the website.

I'm super excited.

Means I have to get back to the gym!!

hehe

Have a lovely evening, my dears!

SSP Progress And Stash Busting!

WiP: SSP, Slippers (Yoko Nakamura's Non-Felted Slippers)
HFO (half finished objects): 1 pair of slippers (they just need to be seamed)

That's right, I'm stash-busting. With slippers! I'm making lots of slippers out of Lion Brand Yarn's Wool-Ease Thick & Quick.

I have also once more, decided to put regular Etsy updates on hiatus until August 2013 (this year still). I am going to destash a lot of my old items and start fresh with my new items, hopefully. This will include both felted and non felted slippers, felted mittens, bags, and all other kids of goodies that I'm going to keep under wraps.

After August 2013, I hope to do an update each month. Hopefully! I'm definitely wanting to work more on my own projects, and I need to with the wedding coming up! haha

Anyway, just a head's up about that.

I spun a lot this weekend, which was exciting, and I'm looking forward to this coming weekend because I'm going to tidy up my craft room and hopefully, finally, share some pictures with you all this coming week.

Then I have a couple days off for Dallas and my anniversary, and it's spring and Easter, and maybe it will finally start getting warm! That's the hope at least. :)

Anyway.

Have a lovely evening, my knitties.

Where's Spring...?

WiP: SSP, slippers!
FOs: None

There's been at least another 2 inches of snow since last nice.

It's this time of year that I really start wanting spring and summer. But the one drawback to living in Calgary is that the "safe-plant" date is June 1. Which is still no guarantee against frost and snow in June and July and August, but at least you generally can leave your plants out overnight.

Anyway.

Lots of knitting.

Lots of wool/silk/mohair blends.

Spinning.

And maybe, perhaps, my shawl. We'll see what the weekend brings.

Have a lovely evening, my knitties!

Snow!!

WiP: Super Secret Project (from now on SSP)
(Mostly) FO: Mittens to felt

Yes, that's right. 11 cm of snow overnight and most of the day Sunday. It was the heavy, sticky stuff, too. (That's my truck and the front yard of our complex when I got downstairs around 9am. It kept snowing until about 4pm on Sunday.)

But it means that I got the mittens finished this weekend! These are new item for the shop when I start doing updates again.

So it was a good, relaxing, weekend. Just hunkered down with my wool this Sunday and knitted.

I did go out Saturday and got myself a Schact Kate (I don't like lazy in front of that) for my spinning wheel, so I plied yarn on Saturday, but I don't have pictures, sorry!

I guess, really, it was a productively relaxing weekend. Exactly how I like them!

Have a lovely day, my dearies! :)
